B. 2000
Amanda offor (b.2000) is currently enrolled at the prestigous Slade School of Arts. Offor's large scale drawings are inspired by the everyday cityscape of are country of descent - Nigeria. Executed primarily in Charcoal, with splashes of colour and texture, the works depict the familiar; water tanks, overhead electric cables etc, whilst also metaphorically alluding to underlying societal issues like an exploding wealth disparity.
Offor's new body of work in oil & acrylic delves into the complexities of identity, culture and history. Her intention is to reclaim her culture and bring attention to its importance on an international scale. She aims to make the viewer aware that art can bridge the gap between the colonial past and the present.
Multilingual (mandarin speaker) , talented and charismatic, Offors' work is a close reflection of the person of the artist.
