Alain Joséphine is holder of a Higher National Diploma in Plastic Expression, obtained at the School of Fine Arts and Decorative Arts in Bordeaux. He questions in his paintings and drawings the spaces that rocked his childhood.
He grew up in the small commune of Riviere-Pilote, whose landscapes of peaks and troughs the artist has depicted throughout his painting career. In these rugged lands, the relationship with the natural space is as physical as the artist’s relationship with his paintings. He approaches them in a reflection on their different components at work in their visible construction, to subsequently establish his own pictorial reality. The presence of the body in these spaces as in that of painting is also at the center of his concerns.
His writings, for their part, express the poetry of this particular topography, the source of the energy for his projects as an artist, but also simply as an awakened man
